Augmented Aurality in Primary School


Joan Francesc Vidal i Arasa started to use noTours at the end of 2013 and beginning of 2014 with the idea of developing some experiences with primary-school children (6 to 16 years old).
With this amazing project he showed the possibilities of Augmented Aurality and noTours for creating pedagogical activities with children. The documentation is quite complete, although it is written in Catalan. But it is really worth to take a look.

You show up at an address by the port. It smells strange here. The door creaks as you open it. You look inside. The sound of a crackling radio, a glass set down on the table, someone muttering. You enter a hallway, following the sound.
In Phoenix you follow the fine traces of yet unexplored places … the scent of rope …

Angelos is an Augmented Aurality Project based on Wim Wenders´s film “Der Himmel über Berlin” (1987) carried out within the University of Murcia’s (UMU) Espinardo campus for the “Video and Cinema’s Plastic techiniques” course taught by Fred Adam from the Faculty of Fine Arts (UMU).

Open call for participation to A knocking bird / an alternative exploration of Sint-Niklaas with
May 3 to May 10, 2013 – Sint-Niklaas (Belgium)

Within the framework of the project, A knocking bird, residents and European visitors to
Sint-Niklaas are invited to explore the city in a search for nature, together with sound artists
of notours.org and WIT Urban Team (www.wit-urbanteam.com) during a stay in Sint-
Niklaas (Belgium).
Anybody interested can apply for free travel, accommodation and meals for one week to
participate to this residency and for this event.
